We've taken our custom drum-making know-how and created a line of drums designed to raise the bar yet again. Design Series™ is a DW kit through and through. From a newly-designed mini Turret lug, to Remo USA®-made Suede® "outline" logo heads and a sleek silver and white badge, its looks are fresh, yet decidedly DW. Also included are pro features such as STM™ (Suspension Tom Mounts), True-Pitch® Tuning, MAG™ throw-off, low-mass die cast claw hooks, and more. Last but certainly not least, there's the sound. These are thicker North American Maple shells that pack a punch. Incorporating HVLT™ (Vertical Low Timbre shell with a horizontal outer ply), Design Series™ shells are full, resonant, and responsive.

What if there was a travel kit that didn't sound like a travel kit?" What if that kit was just small enough to be travel-friendly, but also substantial enough to sound like a 'real' drum set should? After, literally, years of R&D and discussion, the sizes were agreed upon: a 12x20" bass drum with low-mass spurs and lightweight ratchet bass drum mount, an 11x14" floor tom, a traditional 8x12" rack tom with STM, and a matching 5x14" snare drum. The kit also comes standard with True-Pitch® tension rods, MAG™ throw-off, True-Tone™ snare wires, and DW Heads by Remo®. The kit is offered in all 4 Design Series™ finishes: Cherry Stain, Tobacco Burst, Gloss White, and Black Satin. As is the case with all Design Series™ drums, the shells consist solely of North American maple with no reinforcement hoops. MINI-PRO: MAKES ITS BIG RETURN

Originally designed as a high-end drum set for children, the Mini-Pro became a much talked about kit among DW artists. Its quality construction and scaled-down sizes sounded astonishingly big and it was simply fun to play. Now, the Mini-Pro makes its return as part of the Design Series™ lineup in two configurations with two finish options. Low-mass spurs and a ratchet bass drum mount also come standard.

BLACK NICKEL OVER BRASS SNARE

We took a rolled 1mm, bead-reinforced, all-brass shell and decked it out with everything the Design Series™ has to offer. There's little doubt that this snare drum will more than get the job done in any musical situation. This studio-quality snare is high-end in every way, except for its modest price tag. Available in 5.5x14" and 6.5x14" sizes with MAG Throw-Off™, True-Pitch® Tuning, and a DW Reverse Dot batter head by Remo.

PANCAKE GONG DRUM

BANG A GONG: A DESIGN SERIES™ "PANCAKE" GONG DRUM, TO BE EXACT
Crafted from North American Maple and finished in neutral Flat Black, the all-new "Pancake" Gong Drum was created with the help of Italian drummer Marco Iannetta to mimic the sound characteristics of full-sized gong drums, yet they can pack up in seconds. Mounted from a single TB12 tom bracket and fitted with signature Design Series™ mini lugs, this single-headed, 20" diameter (2.5" depth) drum packs plenty of punch and can integrate into the tightest set-ups.

PANCAKE BASS DRUM

THE PANCAKE BASS DRUM IS A KICK TO PLAY
Added to the line of Design Series™ specialty drums is this distinctive, shallow bass drum design. Made from North American Maple, the slight, 2.5” single-headed shell is finished in neutral Black Satin and equipped with removable claw hook spurs. It’s a cost-effective and easy add-on for every kit.

Designed with legendary drummer Terry Bozzio, piccolo toms feature a 2.5-inch-deep chrome-plated steel shell with chrome lugs and heavy-duty TB12 mounting bracket.
A versatile add-on, they are available in 8", 10" and 12" diameters and are compact enough to fit easily into any set-up.
